Some days I love my husband & I hate the patriarchy

Some days I hate the patriarchy & hate my husband.

There are days the part is dearer to me than the sum

And days a little life is easier to expect (than a grand one).

#Solidarity has a hashtag, so does #War  

Tweeting never felt so good nor brought about 

so much cosmetic change.

You say a mirror never lies

but truth is rarely smooth as glass.

And so it goes, I slip from clothes

bleached denim, logos, this chiffon shirt 

that’s supposed to reveal something beneath: 

femininity sheathed 

– and wonder who it’s all for.
